Article 2. In relation to Covid-19 - Support for Our NHS workers
• 26th Mar, 20 •
Appreciating and Supporting our NHS workers and Key workers during the Coronavirus pandemic
Doctors, nurses and other NHS staff including key workers who are not employed by the NHS are invited to make contact in order to receive free Telephone or online counselling support at this difficult time. This offer is based on appreciating the dedicated work that the NHS staff provide and are currently providing during the coronavirus pandemic.
The therapy will aim to offer support to help NHS staff and key workers through each phase of the pandemic and may include :-
Helping to avoid burn-out,
Helping to recognise symptoms of compassionate fatigue,
Working through feelings of guilt
Working through traumatic events
Dealing with unwanted images
Dealing with anxiety
Coping with the impact of grief and loss
Promoting the need for self care
As an experienced counsellor I recognise that even in the early stages of the outbreak, staff will have already been at risk of anxiety, and many will have perhaps been coping with high levels of stress as they deal with day to day trauma, loss and fear. At such difficult times it is important to take care of yourself, to be kind to yourself and give yourself permission to release some difficult emotions, feelings of sadness and guilt.
Talking to someone neutral can be different to talking to a friend, family member or colleague. It can help you to be open and honest about your feelings and help you to be compassionate to yourself at a difficult time.
If you feel I can be of help to you please make contact by telephone or email between 9am and 5pm to arrange an appointment stating your preferred preference which would include either counselling online, by telephone, text or whatsapp.
This offer is open directly by contacting Jacqui from March 2020 to June 1st 2020 ,
After this date clients are able to contact Keylink ......Key Link is a new free to access counselling service formed to offer on-line or telephone counselling to any front-line and key-workers during the Covid-19 crisis, including NHS staff but also any other key workers. Jacqueline Bird is a registered KeyLink worker
